Toothache
I've spent the last few days in moments of the most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my life (so far).
And the culprit is a tiny hole in my tooth the size of a pin.
Instead of me getting numb to the pain as the days went by, it's only intensified to the point that I can't sleep and think properly at certain times.
Thankfully the pain comes in waves. There are brief moments of respite until the next one arrives.
I've had it checked by a dentist and the only solutions forward are a P40,000 root canal procedure or a P1,500 extraction. To be honest, I'd rather save the P38,500 than the tooth.
Google says it's something like irreversible pulpitis but I don't really know for sure because the dentist I went to immediately gave me those two options.
I've been given antibiotics for a week and I'm taking painkillers as well, but Imma be honest, folks, it's not going great.
During the moments of pain, I'm stuck between thinking of pulling the tooth out myself and trying to achieve astral projection so I don't feel what's happening to my body.
It's a sunday and the dental clinics nearby are all closed so I have to bear with the pain until my next appointment. I'm finding it hard to think and focus on other things now so I really want this tooth's nerves destroyed.
Fam, I'm reaping the karma of 3 decades of not taking care of my teeth. It's ironic how something so small can hurt so bad and impact my life in an immediate way. I wish I could just curl up into a ball and cry but that will not make the pain go away.
I don't know if I'm being a bitch with a low pain threshold, but this is really the most painful thing I've experienced (am experiencing). It's so acute I wanna break my jaw open and scrape the nerves away. It's just one tooth but the pain is making me see stars. Crazy.
Anyway. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone decent. Hope I get a dental appointment soon because I don't know how long I can last.
Also it's wild how expensive dental procedures are. I'm just a couple of root canals away from poverty, it turns out. Thankfully, extractions are an option. I'd rather have no teeth than no money.
