My Steam Summer Sale Cart
June 26th marks the first day of the Steam Summer Sale and I've added a few games into my cart already. Here's what they are plus a quick breakdown of why I'm planning to check them out.
Metaphor: ReFantazio (60% off)
I've been waiting so long for this game to drop its price and now it's reached a new all time low. It's been a while since I played a loooong JRPG so once I purchase this, I'm guaranteed to be playing this for the next few months on my Steam Deck.
It's gotten lots of praises and GOTY awards plus I'm a big fan of Atlus' Persona games. I've also finished the demo so I'm looking forward to entering the world of this "medieval Persona". I've already written about how I'll approach this game so now it's time to put it into action.
My Little Puppy (40% off)
It's been a while since my partner played a game on the Steam Deck. She's already finished a few platforming games so she's no stranger to gamepad controls. She's also expressed interest in this game before so the timing is just right to let her start this one. The topic this game deals with might be a bit sensitive, but that's the power of this form of media. Let's see how it goes.
Maids of Storm (25% off)
This game is based on the Cabaret Club Manager mini-game in Yakuza 0 and Yakuaz Kiwami 2. If you don't know what that is, it's the best mini-game in any video game ever. It's my favorite part of playing the games and I've been asking RGG Studios to make a standalone game for it since.
Thankfully, someone with actual video game-making skills decided to do it themselves and that's how we got Maids of Storm. I've played the demo and enjoyed its faithfulness to the inspiration, as well as the parts where it diverged from the source and paved its own path. I can see myself playing this on the short breaks between the heavy gaming sessions as this is more of a cozy game.
After the summer sale, I usually lie low on buying games unless there's a flash sale that makes a game I've wish-listed irresistible. It would take until the winter sale in December until I'm ready to check out another set of games again. I'm hoping the ones above can capture my attention until then. Besides, I still have some ongoing playthroughs to finish.
